Biomedical Sciences
Most biomedical research requires either a human
or animal model. Bionetics is one of the most experienced providers
of
human test subjects
for research studies in the United States. We have recruited,
screened, and provided research subjects under contracts
with the Department of Health
and Human Services, the Environmental Protection Agency,
the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and
the Department of Agriculture. Typical projects
have included support for efforts to characterize the effects
of weightlessness on the human body or studies of cockpit
human factors and crew fatigue.
We have also provided teams of on-call physicians and nurses
to support research objectives and assure accurate data
collection.
When laboratory animals are involved Bionetics has established an
unsurpassed performance record for humane animal care. We consistently demonstrate
our ability to maintain experimental controls, ensure compliance with Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs), and provide the quality control necessary to collect
accurate scientific data. Animals entrusted to our care are provided with
food, water, clean caging, and appropriate enrichment. They are continually
monitored for signs of illness or distress. Bionetics veterinarians, ACLAM Diplomates, are on the leading edge of research in a variety of fields of study. We support some of the most challenging research being conducted today. Our laboratory animal caretakers are certified by the American Association
for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS). Both formal and informal training
programs are provided to assist individuals in obtaining AALAS certification.
Bionetics emphasizes training as a means to promotion and personal fulfillment
that helps to create a challenging and rewarding work environment.
